Private-beta agreement
By using Republic Commons, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. The service is in private beta, which means features, limits, routes, and availability can change as the product is tested. Requesting an invitation does not guarantee access, create an account, or commit either party to a paid service.
Commoner accounts
You must provide accurate account information, protect your sign-in credentials, and promptly report suspected unauthorized access. You are responsible for actions taken through your account. A public username is durable once selected, and public material remains subject to the publishing controls shown in the product.
Do not impersonate another person, misrepresent authority, evade access controls, automate abusive requests, probe private systems, distribute malware, or use Republic Commons to violate law or the rights of others.
Organizations and authority
An Organization workspace is an operational record for the civic group identified in that workspace. Owners and authorized administrators are responsible for ensuring they have authority to act for the Organization, manage its team, publish its site, issue recognition, communicate with subscribers, and connect payment services.
Campaigns, PACs, party committees, and other regulated political committees are not ordinary Republic Commons Organizations. Their specialized tools, financial activity, and compliance requirements remain separate unless Republic Commons explicitly enables a suitable Campaign Tool.
Content, files, and conduct
You retain responsibility for content you submit and grant Republic Commons the limited permission needed to store, process, display, transmit, back up, scan, and format that content as directed by your settings. You must have the rights and permission needed to upload or publish it.
Republic Commons may reject, quarantine, restrict, or remove content and activity that creates security risk, violates these terms, infringes rights, misrepresents provenance, or threatens the service. Malware screening and sanitization reduce risk but cannot make every file or statement inherently trustworthy.
Certifications, Endorsements, and Civic Capital
Certifications and Endorsements remain connected to the issuing Organization and its lifecycle decisions. An issuer may withdraw a record, and a dated record may expire. A recipient controls eligible public-profile display but does not gain ownership of the issuer's authority or the right to alter the official record.
Civic Capital is an internal merit record with no cash value. It may not be bought, sold, redeemed, or represented as money, an investment, a financial return, or legal proof of qualification.
Payments and paid services
Paid Organization features will be identified before activation. Stripe-hosted payment services can impose additional terms. For eligible Organization transactions, the Organization remains responsible for its offerings, customers, refunds, disputes, taxes, and legal obligations. Republic Commons fees and availability will be disclosed before activation.
Availability, changes, and termination
Republic Commons may change, suspend, limit, or discontinue private-beta access when needed for safety, maintenance, legal compliance, product development, or misuse. We work to preserve durable records and provide clear lifecycle behavior, but the beta service is provided without a promise of uninterrupted or error-free operation.
You may stop using the service. Account closure and record-removal requests may be subject to identity verification and exceptions for security, financial, audit, provenance, or legal records. Questions about these working terms may be sent to help.desk@republiccommons.com.
